successful flea with my lady love. so proud of her.
Although all of my friends rule, this post is mainly about Amber Esner and the Making Mail Documentary (directed by Mike Polk) that stars her, a few pals, and other mail makers around the US . With any project Amber does whether it’s painting, drawing, graphic design, paper art…she impresses me every time. We’ve been best friends for 15 years and to see what she does now overwhelms me. The drive that she has daily to make something is so inspiring. I just love her so much.
movie poster for Making Mail. artist Amber Esner
A crew of us went to the Cleveland showing of Making Mail. It was pretty rad there was a full bar, best friends everywhere, mail art exhibit, some zines, bands, and a showing of the film Making Mail. The whole thing was super sweet. It was about artists from all around the world that construct/make/write/craft mail. Not only was Amber in it but so was Carly Bartel, Cara Mullinary, and BUNNY MAY. I’m not kidding, I was sobbing like a baby because I was so proud of Amber- then my dog is on the big screen blinking – I thought I was having a heart attack. The director Mike Polk is a sweet dude and his crew, great job! For real!

My baby girl Amber’s awesome end of year project was showcased. The books she made ruled! I wish everyone could have gone and flipped through her drawings and books. It’s truly amazing. Plus all of my main ladies made an appearance!
Also, I’m getting very anxious about moving and I’m laying in my bed right now wishing I didn’t have to get up and go to work. I want to lay here all day until I’m ready. I have a lot to do in the next couple days. It’s ok though because this is what I’ve waited and worked for. The house is very adorable with a small porch and fenced in back yard. I can’t wait to show you every inch of it.
I’m sure you readers have seen my new layout, which I love! The collage art is brought to you by my best friend, room mate, and one of the most creative people I know Amber Esner. She makes this crazy adorable collage mail that when she’s not in school, she works on it day and night. Her mail is something she genuinely enjoys doing. All it takes to receive one is go to her website here. Soon I’m going to do a post of her inspiring work space where she spends hours doing what she loves. Here are some samples of her mail~~
TODAY IS MOM’S BIRTHDAY SHE’S SO BEAUTIFUL AND CHARMING AND TALENTED I LOVE HER. I went to lunch with her and her boss to Lucky’s. She had fun and enjoyed her food.
We’ve had the most excellent weather in Cleveland! Sunny and 55 degrees in January. The best.
Poor Greg from work passed away from cancer on Sunday. We worked together at Lucky’s for about a year and had helped me when I was going through a hard time through Reiki. It was the best relaxation I’ve ever experienced. He was like magic! He had a tough road with the cancer and is still so special to everyone! We miss you and think of you every day Greg xo We’re having a memorial service for him at Lucky’s this Sunday to celebrate him and light one up!
